15 Taliban, 10 Afghan armed forces Killed in Clashes
KABUL: (Middle East Press) local officials said at least 15 Taliban militants and 10 Afghan security forces were killed in separate incidents in the past 24 hours in eastern Laghman and western Herat provinces.
Eight other insurgents and four security forces were injured in the attacks.
The Taliban insurgents attacked several Afghan police and soldier check posts in Alingar district of eastern Laghman province, killing seven security forces and injuring four others, read the governor’s office in a statement.
“Fifteen Taliban insurgents including three suicide bombers and a Taliban leader, Zalmai, were also killed during the clashes,” the statement read.
Local officials said this comes as; three police were killed by a Taliban insurgent in Shindand district of Herat province on Saturday.
The incident took place after insurgents entered a police check post in Shindand and took the weapons of the police and killed the policeman using a knife.
More than 100 policemen were killed in the past six months in the province, according to Herat Governor, Sayed Fazullah Wahidi.
However, the Taliban insurgents have not yet commented about the incidents.
