2 Afghan Soldiers Killed Following Roadside Bomb Blast
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed following roadside bomb explosion in the past 24 hours, defense officials said Sunday.
Gen. Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), confirmed that two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were martyred in the past 24 hours.
He did not release further information regarding the exact location where the two Afghan army soldiers have been martyred.
Gen. Azimi further added that six terrorists were killed in three different provinces during the Afghan National Army (ANA) operations.
He said at least 26 rounds of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) were also seized and neutralized during the operations.
Taliban militants and other insurgents frequently use Improvised Explosive Device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces.
According to security officials, the Afghan army deaths stands at 4 service members daily on average which is mainly caused due to improvised explosive device (IED) attacks.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not yet commented regarding the report.
