KABUL: (MEP) – Working on the Bagrami-Sabzabad road with a defensive wall along it in the Surkhrod district of eastern Nangarhar province has officially begun, wadsam reported.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Rural Development Minister Wais Barmak said the 3-km road would help address the long-standing problem of area residents.
Costing USD 300,000, the road construction project would be funded with the ministry budget and completed in four months.
The Minister also laid the foundation stone of a 1.3km protective wall.
The USD 260,000 retaining wall would help in protecting the area from flooding.
Meanwhile, Wolesi Jirga Secretary Eng. Syed Ikram urged the Minister to consider more uplift projects for Nangarhar.
