KABUL: (MEP) Three rockets were fired in capital Kabul about 9pm leaving no casualties, officials said.
The incident took place at the police checkpoint in Zanbaq Square on Monday in Kabul city.
This checkpoint leads to a number of key facilities including the Presidential Palace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and numerous embassies.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed that two rockets landed in the 2nd and 10th police districts of the city with the first rocket landing within the vicinity of Ministry of Mines and Petroleum located close to Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice and the President.
The incident comes as at least eight people including two foreigners were killed following a coordinated attack involving a suicide car bombing on the Embassy of Spain in Kabul city eleven days ago.
