3,300 IEC Employees Fired Over Fraud on Election Day

KABUL: (MEP) – The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has black listed 3,300 of its employees charged with fraud on the Election Day, April 5.

IEC secretariat head, Ziaulhaq Amarkhail, told Ariana News that the decision came after their employees were found guilty of fraud in 550 polling sites across the country.

To maintain public trust upon the electoral body, Amarkhail added more staff may come under fire after the investigations completed.

“The election commission has listed the names of about 3,300 employees,” Amarkhail said. “This number may increase and this to show IEC’s neutrality to the people and as well as candidates.”

He called on the people to show once again their commitment to the country’s future, and participate in the second round of Presidential Election.
