69 Taliban Killed in Afghan Military Operations
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 69 Taliban insurgents including their leaders were killed following Afghan military operations by Afghan national security, the Ministry of MoI said Sunday.
MoI said following a statement “Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan in the past 24 hours.”
Furthermore, operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kunar, Nooristan, Herat, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Kunduz, Faryab and Helmand provinces.
At least 69 armed Taliban members were killed, 30 wounded and one was arrested by Afghan National Security Forces, the statement said, adding that several local Taliban leaders are among the dead and Taliban suffered the heaviest casualty in Faryab and Helmand provinces.
Afghan National Police also discovered, confiscated and defused light and heavy rounds ammunition, MoI said.
The Taliban insurgents group has not commented about the reports yet.
