98 Taliban insurgents kill in separate military operations
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 98 Taliban militants were killed following separate military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS).
The statement further added that 21 Taliban militants were killed, 15 militants were wounded and 15 others were arrested during the operations.
Interior ministry said the operations were conducted in Balkh, Ghazni, Paktia, Farah and Helmand provinces.
Afghan national security forces also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the armed operations.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan said at least 77 Taliban militants were killed during the operations by Afghan national army (ANA) soldiers in the past 24 hours.
Defense officials also added that 28 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also discovered and detained during the operations.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not yet commented regarding the report.
