Unknown gunmen Kills Intelligence official in northern Afghanistan
KABUL: (MEP) – An intelligence official was shot dead by unknown gunmen in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan early Monday morning, local security officials said.
The incident took place around 7:00 AM local time in Chahar Dara district after unknown gunmen opened fire on district intelligence — national directorate of security (NDS) administrator Ghulam Hussain.
District security Chief Ghulam Mohiuddin confirming the report said Ghulam Hussain shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kunduz city, while he was on his way to Chahar Dara district, Khaama reported.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
This was the second government official assassinated by unknown gunmen in northern Kunduz province in less than a week. Unknown gunmen assassinated independent election commission (IEC) chief for northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan, Eng. Amaullah Aman last Wednesday.
He was also shot dead by gunmen riding motorcycle in northern Kunduz city.
