Police Foils Two Deadly Attacks In Northern Afghanistan

English-Middle East PressMEP: Security officials of 209 Shaheen Corps announced Tuesday that its intelligence officers have discovered and thwarted two rounds of mines in northern Balkh and Baghlan provinces.

A statement was released by the agency states a barrel of anti-vehicle mine on the road from the village of Jarqalah in the district of chamtal of Balkh province was discovered and disabled by security officials.

The statement adds that another anti-vehicle mine in Pul-e Khumri, the provincial capital of Baghlan province has been foiled.

Meanwhile, two armed Taliban were killed and five others including Mullah Nasim Badghisi, the group’s senior commander were wounded in Qashqari village of Sar-e-Pul province, the statement noted.
