Taliban’s Chief Of Suicide Attacks Arrested In Faryab
MEP: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested a top Taliban leader who was in charge of coordinating the group’s suicide attack missions was arrested in northern Faryab province.
Qari Ahmad Khalid, son of Mohammad Alem in a special operation in Maimana city, the capital of Faryab province has been arrested, a statement by NDS said on Saturday.
The rebel confessed that he had planned to embed a mine at one of the busiest areas of the city of Maimana, the statement added.
NDS says that with the arrest of the person, the detonation of 25 kilograms of explosives have been prevented.
The development comes as two days ago, two Pakistani teenagers who were planning suicide attacks in Nangarhar province, were arrested by the national security officers.
