300 Poets Celebrate The Birth Of Jalaluddin Balkhi In Restive Baghlan

MEP: A number of academics and poets of Baghlan province in a gathering untitled “feasting sun feet” in the town of Pul-e Khumri celebrated the birth of Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi.

The celebration is held despite many insecurity in parts of the province where the armed Taliban are heavily engaged in clashes with security forces.

“Feasting Sun Feet” with the participation of nearly 300 poets and educators was held last night with reading and reciting poems of Mohammad Jalaluddin Balkhi.

The speakers and poets have presented their hatred of war within the country and urged for the unity and integrity of Afghanistan.

Aziz Rahman Sakhi Zada, head of Royan University with an emphasis on the unity and integrity, called on citizens no to let the province to tuned into the second Kunduz.

He said: “As Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi has message of friendship to people on earth, we too must put aside hatred and prejudice on the model of the character in our efforts to strengthen our relationships and patrol the perimeter.”

Abdul Rawof Wafi, one of the poets of Baghlan province said in his speech, though the province burns in insecurity and in the war, but this sort of programs can change public opinion and lead to a brighter and better future.

Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi son of Sultan ul-Ulama Baha-ul-deen was born on 30 September 1207 in Balkh province of Afghanistan. He died on 17 December 1273 (age 66) in Konya, Sultanate of Rum.
