Woman And Children Killed In Taliban Mortar Attack In Baghlan
MEP: At least seven members of a family have lost their lives in the armed Taliban mortar attack in the district of Central Baghlan of northern Baghlan province.
All of the victims were a woman and children.
Jawid Basharat, spokesman for the police chief of Baghlan told the Middle East Press, the incident took place at around 12:00 pm this afternoon.
He said the family members were killed when the armed Taliban fired a mortar on their house in the village of Baalta in the region of Pashaye haye.
Three girls, three boys and a woman were killed and a child was injured in the attack, Basharat added.
According to the source, this area is under government control and the armed Taliban sometimes launches rocket attacks on residential areas.
The anti-government group did not comment on the report so far.
