NDS Arrests Haqqani Network Commander In Paktia

MEP: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) have arrested a commander of the Haqqani terrorist network in Paktia province of Afghanistan.

Sayyed-ul-Rahman also known as Khaibar son of Haji Adam Khan lead responsibility for 20 persons belonging to the Haqqani network, a statement by NDS said on Sunday.

The commander has been arrested following a special operation in Zarmat district.

NDS says the detainee has admitted that he was responsible for the conducts of sabotage and terrorist activities, including explosions, assassinations of government officials and tribal elders in the province and who has been involved in several terrorist activity along with his men.

The development comes as yesterday, two transferors of arms and ammunition had been arrested from Kabul – Maidan Wardak highway.
