Adem Saleh YouTube Star Kicked Off Delta Flight ‘For Speaking Arabic’

MEP: A YouTube star known for filming elaborate hoaxes was removed from a New York-bound plane in London together with a friend after speaking Arabic on the aircraft.

He said he was escorted off a Delta flight on Wednesday morning after other passengers complained when they heard him speaking in Arabic.

Adem Saleh sparked a tweet-storm after posting video of himself and a friend, 22 year old Slim Albaher of Brooklyn, being removed from Delta Flight 1. In the tweet, Saleh claimed that people complained to flight attendants because he was speaking Arabic while on the phone with his mother.

Saleh said several passengers voiced their support for him while others approved of his removal from the plane. The passengers who were on the flight when it landed in New York confirmed the men’s story.

“You guys are racist. I cannot believe my eyes,” Saleh shouts in the video as he describes the confrontation. “Six white people against us bearded men.”

“This is 2016. 2016. Look, Delta Air Lines are kicking us out because we spoke a different language,” he says in the video.

He can be seen asking one his fellow passengers: “I spoke a word [of Arabic], and you said you feel uncomfortable?”

Saleh told the Guardian that he was calling his mother before his flight from Heathrow on Wednesday morning.

“Usually before I take off I speak to my mom,” he said. “My mom is 66 years old and she only speaks Arabic, so I was speaking to her in Arabic – it was a 30-second phone call.”

Saleh, who has millions of followers subscribed to his YouTube channels, posted numerous times from an airport in London where he said Delta had asked them to wait. His latest tweet said they had been rebooked on another flight to New York with a different airline after going through the security check a second time.
