2 Civilians Killed by Taliban Rocket in Nangarhar

KABUL: (MEP) – Local officials of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday said that at least two civilians were killed in a Taliban rocket attack last night. Three others were reported injured.

The incident took place in Hisarak District of the province on Tuesday night when Taliban insurgents fired a rocket intended for the District Governor’s office. However, the rocket missed its target and hit a neighboring home, according to Ahamad Zia Abdulzai, the spokesman of the Provincial Governor.

The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital for emergency care, tolo reported.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, though security officials have concluded it was the Taliban.
