Kabul tripartite suicide attacks left 20 dead, 87 injured
At least 20 people were killed and 87 wounded in Saturday’s suicide bombings at the funeral of a Senator’s son in Khair Khana area of Kabul city, The Ministry of Public Health officials said.
The three suicide attacks happened at about 3.30pm during the burial service at a cemetery for Saalem Iyzdyar, son of Mohammad Alam Izydyar who was killed on Friday when security forces opened fire on demonstrators at a mass rally in downtown Kabul.
During the funeral some Jihadi leaders affiliated with the Jamiat-e-Islami, CEO Abdullah Abdullah and Salahuddin Rabbani head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were presented and are safe, according to a reliable source close to CEO office.
The deadly explosions came as just four days before (on Wednesday) a massive truck bombing hit Wazir Akbar Khan area in which more than 100 people were killed and 600 others wounded.
