Explosion heard in western Herat province

KABUL: (MEP) – An explosion was heard in western Herat province of Afghanistan late Saturday evening, local officials said.

According to reports, the incident took place near the provincial government compound.

Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, spokesman for the provincial security commandment confirmed that an explosion was heard late Saturday evening near the provincial government compound.

Mr. Ahmadi said the nature of the explosion is not clear so far and there are no reports regarding any possible casualties.
