4 Burqa-Clad Insurgents Killed, 3 Detained In Kundoz
KABUL: (MEP) – A group of seven armed insurgents wearing female dresses attacked a police check post Sunday in northern Kundoz, security sourced said.
Police chief of Kundoz, Sayed Sarwar Hussaini, told media that four Burqa-clad insurgents tried to storm the check post but the security forces identified them.
According to Hussaini, the clashes lasted several hours with all first four insurgents shot dead. He added another group of insurgents reached the area to take the corpses with them but the police again resisted and injured three of other militants.
Their commander Qari Sirajudin, known as Peer, was also among the killed insurgents. Kundoz Police Chief told reporters that the security forces were not harmed in the fighting.
This comes as counter-terrorism operations continued for almost one month in Dashte Archi district of Kundoz where scores of militants were eliminated as said by the security sources.
