Obama: US Troops Won’t Launch War in Iraq

KABUL: (Middle East Press) US president Barack Obama stressed Wednesday that American  troops won’t launch a land war in Iraq, after his top general suggested some advisers could join Iraqi forces to fight ISIL.

“The American military that have been deployed to Iraq do not and will not have a conflict mission,” Obama told American troops at the headquarters of US Central Command in Florida.

Obama has repeatedly insisted that, despite ordering air strikes against ISIL in Syria and Iraq, he will not send US troops back to fight another land war in the region.

US president noted Saudi Arabia’s willingness to base a US mission to train the  Syria terrorist groups on its soil.
