Senior al Qaeda Head Killed in Pakistan
KABUL: (Middle East Press)According to Pakistani military Saturday, a senior al Qaeda militant have been killed following an operation in South Waziristan ethnic county of Pakistan.
The senior al Qaeda chief was identified as Adnan El Shukrijumah who was accused in the US over a plot to bomb New York’s subway system.
Pakistani military said following a statement two other suspected al Qaeda terrorists were also killed along with Shukrijumah during the raid.
The statement further added “In an intelligence borne operation top Al-Qaeda head Adnan El Shukrijumah was killed by Pakistan Army in an early morning attack in Shinwarsak, South Wazirastan today.”
Asim Bajwal of Inter-service Public Relations also confirmed the report and said “Top AlQaeda leader Adnan El Shukrijuma with his 1 companion killed by Pakistan Army raid in S. Waziristan today. 5 terrorists nabbed,” Asim Bajwal of Pakistan’s Inter-service Public Relation said.
According to the US prosecutors, Shukrijumah had recruited three men in 2008 to obtain training in the lawless ethnic region of Pakistan for the raid.
