
The provincial police chief, Abdul Qayum Baqizoy told the Middle East Press, a clearance operation has been started a week before in this district by involving heavy losses to the group large parts of these districts were cleared.
He said the areas that had been under Taliban control a week ago, they fled those areas and in this sections checkpoints of the popular uprising and the military forces have been mobilized.
Thirty armed Taliban have been killed during the operation, Baqizoy added.
The operation will continue until the complete cleansing of the district.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Noor Rahmani, a member of the provincial Council also called the recent achievements of the security forces “impressive” and urged to continue the operation in sectors where the Taliban have fled.
There have been talks of collapse of the district previously into the hands of the armed Taliban and security officials have ensured from solving any potential risks in the district.
It is said with cleansing parts of the district, many displaced families have returned to their homes.
