Afghanistan Ballot Invalidation development Starts Today
KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan (IEC) said Sunday that the invalidation development of votes will be officially launched today.
Noor Mohammad Noor, spokesman for the Independent Election Commission (IEC), said the invalidation development will be conducted in the presence of national and international observers and media.
Noor further added that 1,626 additional cards have been circulated to observers in a bid to speed up the audit procedure.
He said the audit method is accelerated every day and at least 31 cards were given to observers on Saturday.
According to Noor, at least 2,704 identity cards have been given to observers so far.
This comes as the US Secretary of State John Kerry made an unexpected trip to Kabul on Thursday in an attempt to save the undecided political and technical agreements that he had brokered between Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah.
