Afghanistan Trade With Iran Beats $5 Billion Per Year

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The trade value between Afghanistan and Iran has hit $5 billion per year, said Nasir Ahmad Noor the Afghan ambassador to Iran.

Noor said the value of trade dealings between the two countries shows a 10-fold rise during the last five years.

“The value of trade between Iran and Afghanistan, including transfer of supplies and fuel products, has hit $5 billion a year,” Noor told Fars News Agency.

Noor welcomed further ventures by neighboring nations in Afghanistan and said the gates to Afghanistan’s economy and markets are open for all neighboring countries, specifically Iran.

He described the two-sided relations between Kabul and Tehran as friendly and urged for more encouragement of all-out cooperation with Iran.

The Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Reza Bahrami also met with the Afghan Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Osmani last week to discuss the level of collaboration between Kabul and Tehran.

The two sides called for further development of ties between Kabul and Tehran, and said the two nations enjoy great potentials to enlarge cooperation.
