KABUL: (MEP) -Afghans based in the US gathered by the hundreds and demanded that President Karzai sign the security agreement between Kabul and Washington as soon as possible.
The protestors said,“If President Karzai is not willing to sign the document, he should allow his Defense Minister to sign the agreement.“
The chief of the Durand Line Jirga process, Sediq Mateen, has warned that in the event that insufficient attention is drawn to the issues, they will expand their protests even to Afghanistan.
Another protestor named Gulbahar from the state of Virgina declared that the signing of the security pact with the US would greatly benefit Afghanistan. He said that by signing the agreement, Afghanistan would deminish the influence of Iran and Pakistan.
Protestors said that delays in the signing of the security pact would benefit the hidden programs of Pakistan Intelligent Services Intel (ISI).
The holding of the protests was related to the Afghanistan Government’s stated policy of not being willing to sign the security pact with the US unless President Karzai’s conditions are accepted. The US has said that it would not re-open negotiations because the language of the agreement had already been agreed to, Ariana new reported.
