KABUL: (MEP) Haji Mohammad Zubair Khaksar who was a journalist and culture advisor to the governor has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nangarhar.
He was working for government-run Nangarhar Radio and Television network came under the attack while driving in his vehicle in Kharkarano Kala area of Surkh Road District Friday night.
Khaksar came under attack in Moi Mubarak area at 9pm, when he was returning from a friend’s residence.
After the investigation the only evidence they have received is four bullet cases in the vehicle in which Khaksar was shot dead.
With 30 years of experience as TV journalist, Khaksar had recently been appointed as advisor to the governor on cultural affairs.
His murder has been condemned by the governor and civil society activists.
It comes as the terrorist group of ISIS has been broadcasting threatening messages to journalists on its ‘Voice of the Caliphate’ radio in Nangarhar.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
