Chief executive officer (CEO) of the national unity government reacted to the security forces’ involvement with the protesters in Zanbaq crossing and the use of violence against protesters. He said the recent incident was ‘shocking’.
Abdullah Abdullah said at today’s ceremony (20 June) on the occasion of World Refugee Day that the investigation of last night’s incident had not yet been completed, but the event once again shook everyone.
He stated that if a mistake had been made somewhere, it should be announced, and that if the neglect of the duty or the act of committing murder was carried out, there should be legal action.
Abdullah added one person dead and six wounded during the last night conflict and insisted on a serious investigation. He further noted the security forces have a duty to provide security for the citizens, and they must carry out their legal responsibilities in this way as well as considering their law and self-restraint.
The Chief Executive also emphasized that the reality of any incident should be told to the people and the concealment of the facts would undermine the trust of the government in the nation.
Abdullah’s remarks came as last night, when security forces wanted to pick up the protesters’ tent for the resurgence of the Rastakhiz movement to bring better changes in the government, had clashes with them that according to statistics, two were killed and five others wounded, and a number have also been arrested, but government officials have not yet commented on this.
