MEP: Chief Executive of the country once again stressed that the armed Taliban across the border, have safe havens, and this is the main obstacle to peace in Afghanistan.
Abdullah Abdullah, last night during a meeting with security forces in Kabul – Nangarhar highway, said the Taliban are supported by neighboring countries.
However, he did not refer to any specific country, but it is clear that the blame lays to Pakistan which its relations with Afghanistan is turned darkening recently.
Abdullah added that the national unity of government’s policy on reconciliation dialogue still continues and had been ready to talk from past until now, but unfortunately, the enemies did not use this opportunity and went to war and violence.
According to the chief executive, the enemies of Afghanistan will achieve nothing by choosing war, because the security forces are bravely on the barricades and defend their homeland in the cold and heat weather.
Emphasizing the need to address the families of martyrs and security forces and their living problems, stressed that the two factors are the main obstacles to peace in Afghanistan, on the one hand, terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan, which have no interest for the country and seek to achieve the objectives of international terrorism in Afghanistan and its people are the victims.
CEO Abdullah noted that the armed Taliban still have safe havens in neighboring countries and are supported by them and in this regard last negotiations according to the Kabul government, was fruitless and even led to the continuation of war.
The elimination of Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group
Chief Executive Officer also stressed on the destruction of Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group in the country and said that the group have faced defeat in the eastern regions as well as Farah and Helmand provinces.
According to him, ISIS is an international phenomenon and to deal with it, international solidarity is with Afghanistan.
