RT reported citing local media that the blast took place at a plant belonging to the Acharya chemical company in the town of (Dombivali), Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The explosion was reportedly in a boiler inside the plant as it shattered glass in a 3km radius due to strong immensity.
Police officials soon arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area as investigations kicked off for further details.
The injured have been transported to local hospitals, Indian Daily News & Analysis reported.
