KABUL: (MEP) – Blast was so powerful that his brain was smashed and seen on the ground
A 17-year-old Afghan boy celebrating Eid al Fitr with his family at a public park in Saudi Arabia was killed when fireworks blasted off his head and split his brain, which fell off on the ground, a newspaper reported on Saturday.
Civil defense and medical teams were seen picking the damaged brain from the ground where the boy lay dead in a pool of blood at the park in the western town of Taif.
“The blast was so powerful that the boy’s brain was split into pieces, which fell out of his head on the ground…civil defense and medical teams were seen picking what is left of the brain,” the Arabic language daily Sabq said.
It said the victim’s brother had used fireworks in the park despite warnings by authorities through the Gulf Kingdom against such dangerous items. The paper said the incident triggered “wailing and hysterical fits by the victim’s family at the park.”
