Explosion Injures 3 People in Brazil Petrobras Factory

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least three people have been injured following an explosion in the Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM) of Brazil’s state-owned oil giant Petrobras.
The incident took place on Monday near the northern city of Salvador, with Petrobras announcing an investigation to figure out the cause of the blast.
The bodies of the wounded personnel were burned between 10 and 75 percent.
“The injured were immediately tended to by factory medical workers and taken to hospital. The company is providing the necessary assistance,” Petrobras said in a statement, adding that no environmental damage was caused.
Brazil’s largest company also rejected any possible effect on market supply.
The RLAM refinery produces 323,000 barrels a day of over 30 oil derivatives including diesel, gasoline, kerosene, asphalt, and lubricants.
As well as supplying Brazil’s northeast, the company’s products go to the US and Argentina.
