KABUL: (MEP) – At least two NATO service members were killed following an explosion in eastern Afghanistan on Monday.
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) following a statement, said, “Two International Security Assistance Force contracted-civilians died as the result of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today.”
The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationalities of the deceased soldiers.
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) generally does not disclose identities of the NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan, saying, “It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”
At least eight US troops have been killed in various incidents since the beginning of the year, according icasualties.org, which tracks the NATO forces casualties in Afghanistan.
