Attaullah Khogyani, Nangarhar governor’s spokesman told Middle East Press, the consulate was targeted on Wednesday at around 11:30am.
Khogyani said, the attack with fierce resistance by the security forces ended around 12:30pm after the elimination of four suicide attackers.
The attack caused no casualty on security forces and the civilians and the building of the Indian consulate did not face any damage either, according to the source.
Meanwhile, Nangarhar officials say the conflict ended in the area as a whole, but security forces are searching for other possible attackers.
The attack comes as the anti-government armed militants had also launched attack on the Indian consulate about five months before.
