Four Women Shot Dead in Farah Province

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Unknown gunmen have secretively killed at least four women in western Farah province late Thursday night.

The women were shot dead and their bodies were left on a roadside in the central city of Farah, local officials said.

The main reason behind the incident is not clear yet, but the security officials believe that preliminary reports suggest the women were shot dead over disloyalty.

No group has claimed responsibility behind the murdering of the women so far.

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) said earlier in June that about 240 cases of honor-killing and 160 cases of rape have been recorded across the country last year.
