German army vehicles pull out from Afghanistan

KABUL: (MEP) – Germany has brought home its first batch of military supplies in the official withdrawal of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force from Afghanistan, cctv reported.

A contingent of 127 vehicles arrived via the North Sea port of Emden on Saturday. The supplies were first flown to Turkey, before being loaded onto boats.

Germany started pulling out troops in late July. The country will send large amounts of military goods home to protect its military secrets. More of it is scheduled to arrive in October.

NATO’s pull-out is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014. Its military handover to Afghanistan began in July last year. So far the transition has been completed in areas home to half of the Afghan population.
