Herat Blast Kills Security Director Son
KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to local officials the 19-year-old son of Qadir Khan, Kosan district’s security director, was killed on land mine in western Herat province early Monday.
The mine was planted near the door of Khan’s house and exploded after he and his son, Tariq, were headed to the office, said Juma Gul Rahmani, the district governor.
Gov. Rahmani said that the mine was placed near the door of Khan’s house on Sunday night. He added that Tariq was his father’s driver, who was recently appointed as the security director.
He said the police officials have started investigation regarding the incident.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility behind the attack.
