Hundreds of prisoners released from Ghazni jail

KABUL: (MEP) -Hundreds of prisoners, including 3 women were today released from prison in Ghazni province.

Most of these inmates were arrested during military operations while a number of them were accused of corruption.

The prisoners were released in accordance with President Karzai’s instructions, but the Ghazni governor has expressed his concerns over them rejoining armed opposition ranks.

Muhammad Musa Akbar Zada, Ghazni governor linked the current Afghanistan war with the agenda of foreign countries that are in pursuit of their own political gains.

The released inmates have however, claimed that they were imprisoned without any formal charges being framed against them.
