Iranian Army Kills Five PJAK Terrorists

MEP: Iranian security forces have killed five members of a PJAK (Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) terrorist group in the country’s northwest near the border with Turkey, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Monday.

The five were responsible for the killings of two members of the Revolutionary Guards in Sardasht last month and an engineer working there, the Guards said in the statement. It did not say when the five were killed.

PJAK is believed to enjoy close ties with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Turkey and is focused on combating the regime in Iran.

The troops also seized a large amount of weapons following the operation, the statement added.
