KABUL: (MEP) – Praising the security situation at the Election Day, the inhabitants of capital Kabul have lauded the security forces for their dedication at the historic day.
The Presidential and Provincial Assembly elections were held Saturday on April 5 in a peaceful environment with a large turnout.
Despite serious threats from the Taliban, millions of Afghans across the country participated in the historic elections to pave grounds for first democratic transfer of power in the history of Afghanistan.
The Afghan women had also participated in large numbers, saying they voted against violence and corruption.
Voters were, however, satisfied with the security measures and praised the security agencies for their day-night efforts.
“Everyone was afraid of Taliban attacks but the security forces proved that they are able to provide security of entire country,” a Kabul resident said.
