Landslide scare forces families to abandon homes in Bamyan

KABUL: (MEP) – Threats of landslides in the mountainous regions of Bamyan province have forced hundreds of families to flee their homes in fear.

According to local officials, inhabitants of the Sorkh Joy area of Bamyan are in need of assistance to enable them to cope with the situation.

Muhammad Asif Mobalegh, Governor of Bamyan said the administration did not have sufficient resources to provide necessary assistance to the people displaced.

Officials have warned that the situation may turn bleak for hundreds of women and children if immediate assistance did reach them.
