KABUL: (MEP) – As step in finding public opinion on BSA (bilateral security agreement) recently the Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Monday in a press-conference told reporters that Loya Jirga would be called next month, which security agreement talks will be the purpose of this Loya Jirga.
Afghan head of state said Afghanistan will not signed the agreement until it save national interests.
“People of Afghanistan want to be friends with the US, but the friendship should ensure protection of our national interest,” Karzai contended.
Karzai made it clear Kabul will not mark the security deal with the Washington till Karzai`s conditions are not met.
Karzai pointed out on guarantees from terrorist threats, International troop’s airstrikes on civilians and Taliban skirmishes for inking the BSA agreement with the US.
Afghan President during his remarks on the conference said that booming economy of the country, respect for Afghanistan sovereignty and equipping Afghan forces are should be ensured in the pact.
Hamid Karzai told media persons that the two sides have reached to closing levels on BSA (bilateral security agreement) pact, but according to Karzai there are several points that are yet to be agreed on.
“We are prepared to reach accord with the Washington, but US must understand that signing the pact must not cost us of our security and freedom,” Afghan head added.
