MEP: A Lufthansa Airlines flight from Houston to Frankfort, Germany made an emergency landing in the John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York on Monday after a reported bomb threat.
Steve Coleman, a spokesman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said flight 441 destined for Frankfurt from Houston landed safely and was taken to a remote area of John F. Kennedy International Airport around 8:30 p.m.
The landing was made after a bombing threat had been received by phone.
“LH441 was diverted as a matter of precaution in coordination with the relevant authorities and the pilot,” the airline said in a tweet. “Passengers disembarked and LH staff will take care of them. The aircraft will be searched.”
Following the search, all passengers had left the airplane and were put up at hotels, , a Lufthansa spokesman said on Tuesday morning in Germany.
