Massive Truck Explosion Scheme Thwarted In Paktika

KABUL: (Middle East Press) another massive truck bombing scheme was thwarted by Afghan security forces in Orgun district of eastern Paktika province, where a similar assault killed at least 42 people last month.

The Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS), said Tuesday that a truck filled with explosives was detained along with a suspected bomber who was looking to carry out the attack in Orgun district.

A statement released by NDS, the arrested bomber was recognized as Qasid and is originally a resident of Northern Waziristan ethnic district.

The statement further added that the bomber was selected by Taliban group leaders Abdullah and Qari Majnoon to carry out the truck bombing.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report yet.
