MoE Concerned of Wide Presence of Students in Campaigns

KABUL: (MEP) – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has voiced fear over presence of a large number of students in the election campaigns, calling it harmful to the education process.

In a bid to keep the students away from politics, the Ministry of Education has demanded the Presidential candidates not to use students and educational facilities in their campaigns.

These statements were expressed after hundreds of school and university students attended the elections campaigns of Presidential candidates began on February 2nd.

Addressing a press conference Monday in Kabul, the MoE press department director, Kabir Haqmal, asked the poll contenders to not disrupt the education process in the country.

“We want the election contenders to recognize the schools as independent and politics-free centers and don’t create problems to the education process,” Haqmal asked candidates.

He also asked the candidates to not attempt using schools as their campaign centers and offices.
