No Casualties After Rockets Land In Diyarbakir Airport

Diyarbakir_AirportMEP: A rocket has reportedly landed in Turkey’s Diyarbakir airport sending staff and passengers under safety shelter in a terminal building, the airport is used for both military and civilian purposes.

Police were sent to the scene but there were no reports of either dead or wounded, the Dogan news agency said.

Four rockets were fired at a police checkpoint outside the VIP lounge at the airport late on Saturday. Windows were damaged.

There have been no claims of responsibility for the attack. However, Dogan news agency said the attack was carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) which has fought the Turkish state for over three decades.
