North Korea executes 5 officials
The North Korean leader executed five FM officials in a new act due to failure in negotiation with the United States in Hanoi.
According to Middle East Press International News, the South Korean newspaper, Chosun Ilbo reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had executed Kim Hyok Chol, North Korea’s special envoy to the U.S. and four other North Korean Foreign Ministry officials over failed Kim-Trump summit.
According to the report, these people have been blamed for the failure of Hanoi meeting and have therefore been executed.
One of North Korean sources who did not want to be named, said that Kim Hyok Chol was interrogated and executed at the “Merem” airport along with four senior FM officials in March this year.
The piece also added that Kim Yong Chol, one of North Korea’s top overall officials who visited the White House last year, has been subjected to hard labor and “ideological education.” He previously led nuclear talks for Pyongyang as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s counterpart.
Also, Kim Sung Hai, a co-official of the North Korean Foreign Minister who presented talks with the United States, was transferred to the camp of political prisoners.
The newspaper also wrote, “Kim Yo Jung, the sister of the North Korean leader who helped him at the Hanoi summit, was also dismissed, but her fate is not known.
On the other hand, the United States has announced that it will seriously investigate the news of these executions.
