Based on an intelligence tip regarding the illegal border crossing, the Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers conducted an operation in the Rahtak area of Chaman district on Saturday.
An FC spokesman said the 85 illegal Afghans had been detained along with a travel agent. They were on their way to Europe through Iran, he confirmed.
He further added that the detainees were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for interrogation.
A day earlier, Pakistan deported 160 Afghans to their country via the Torkham border. They had been arrested in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
