Paintings Of The Suffering Women Exhibited
MEP: Herat province is a closed environment for women but they are always trying different ways to breaking norms and destroying traditions to have an active role in various fields.
Herat women even depict their exclusion and problems in different parts to draw the attention of general and specific to women’s rights and to have a proactive step on the way down.
Exhibiting is one of the ways in which women display their pain and problems by.
Nahida Nassiri student at Herat University College of Fine Arts and the organizer of the exhibition, told the Middle East Press, “Women are suffering from various problems and their rights are violated. With this painting exhibition, we have depicted the plight of women so the people of Herat to be informed of the status of women. ”
She said another goal of the exhibition is to keep alive the name of Nasrullah Sarwari, a famous Herati artist that has been forgotten.
This exhibition displayed 33 works that is relevant to women by Mrs Nassiri and narrated the status of women in various states for the visual.
The showing is ongoing for four days.
Arefah Saboori one of the viewers said that this exhibition is one of the good outcomes, and each picture tells a very sensitive subject.
The exhibition comes at a time while women in the city are suffering from domestic violence and forced marriages.
