Pakistan to refrain interference on Afghanistan post 2014

KABUL: (MEP) – Sartaj Aziz, Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif`s advisor has said his country will not interfere in Afghanistan`s internal matters post 2014, 1TV Media reported.

Aziz has asked world nations should also stop meddling in Afghanistan and give a chance to the Afghan people as to decide their future.

He has said: “Pakistan will not intervene on Afghanistan`s internal matters and other nations should also abstain from doing it.”

Nawaz Sharif`s advisor to forging policy has also added that Pakistan`s policy toward regional countries is same as to Russia and China.

This is said to be the first remarks on Afghanistan by a Pakistan authority post Afghan President Karzai`s visit to Islamabad.

Mr. Aziz`s comments come at a time that Afghanistan government and civil society institutes have always criticized Pakistan on having dual policy toward Afghanistan.

Afghan civil society activists say by Sartaj Aziz`s statement, Pakistan accepts it plays role in Afghanistan political decisions, adding that Pakistan has drawn new policies for Afghanistan after International forces pull out.

Aziz Rafi, head of Afghan Civil Society Organization has told 1TV: “one high ranking officials has admitted that Pakistan had been interfering on Afghanistan, but post 2014 will stop involving.”

He added that Pakistan, for the sake of its interests, will not ever refrain meddling in Afghanistan`s internal matters.
