Pakistan To Taliban: You Cannot Independently Participate In Afghanistan Peace

MEP: Islamabad warned the armed Taliban leaders that should not hold the Afghan peace talks with the government of Kabul without Pakistan and Pakistan should be partners in this development.

The warning was given during the visit of a delegation of armed Taliban leaders from Qatar office to Islamabad.

Taliban leaders say Islamabad warned them that cannot independently take part in peace talks and they should not put Pakistan on the sidelines of the process.

This comes as recently a delegation of three senior Taliban members had gone to Islamabad to share the already launched peace talks with the Kabul government to Pakistan.

Also Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Relations, had said that the visit was taken to discuss recent peace talks with Kabul.

Meanwhile, it is said that the country’s high-ranking officials also secretly met with Taliban leaders in Qatar.

However, Pakistan has not yet reacted in relation to the armed Taliban claim.
