MEP: A group of kidnappers consists of four has been arrested in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Interior said on Monday the offenders were detained during a special military operation.
According to the statement, the group had abducted a man from the city a few days ago and asked for five million Pakistani rupees in ransom.
The abducted man was rescued during the operation and the four abductors are in police custody, the statement said.
The development comes as about 1 and half months ago, a group of 17 kidnappers had been arrested in Faryab province by Afghan security forces.
